HQ Stream Beta

This is a test of the external HQ stream to allow premium subscribers to connect with external players.
After visiting this page (the one you are reading now), your IP will be added to the HQ streams white list and you will be able to connect. If you try to connect without your IP being added to the white list the stream will reject you and depending on your player it will be reported in different ways.
During the beta phase the while list will be maintained by hand and probably be wiped once a week. When it is wiped you'll have to visit this page again to be added. At the moment the final duration or managing of the white list hasn't been decided. Also note if your IP changes for any reason (often during a modem reset) you'll have to visit this page again.
The stream link is: http://media01.lynx.evehost.net:8024/?sid=1
Now this is a 256k stream all the time as most clients (players) don't support a change in bit rate. This means then even when a standard DJ is on or the Jukebox is on and they are only sending a 128k stream, the server will repackage it as a 256k stream for you. However this does not increase the quality, it will still be at 128k quality, but taking double the bandwidth. Obviously this is a waste of both your and our bandwidth. At the moment we have plenty to spare so during the beta is doesn't matter, but if we operationally see a lot of people doing it then we may shut the HQ stream down except during HQ slots. Either way we recommend you switch back to the 128k stream during standard slots if its not too difficult.
It is still in beta at the moment so if you have any problems please reporting them in this forums thread. Try to include the line from the bottom of this page which reads "Adding x.x.x.x to allowed list at yyy" and then google "what is my ip" and copy the bit which reads "Your public IP address is x.x.x.x" and then try accessing the link again so from the time-stamp I can see which IP tried to connect. If you'd rather not post your IP in public then email it to me (qgazq) at gamingradio.net.
