I'm taking college classes for my degree and since it's an election year and I needed an elective I decided to take US Government as it's a good refresher on where we came from and what we could be as a Country. I'm reading the Declaration of Independence and a thought strikes me regarding some of the party platforms and how they just seem wrong.

Take for instance the Republican stance on gay marriage. How can a political body take the stance "you have no right to pursue your happiness because my religion disagrees"?
