Dissecting CCP - A Funkybacon Talk Special

Eve Radio News

It's been a tough month for CCP.

There was uproar about the Alliance Tournament, performance issues with Incarna, outrage with the NEX store and now a leaked internal document that (on the surface) casts CCP in a very negative light.

Tonight at midnight gmt (25/06/11), Funkybacon and chums will dissect everything that has happened this month and attempt to make some sort of sense of it all. What is likely to be a landmark discussion with a lot of important views, opinions and maybe a few facts will be shared LIVE with you, the EVE Radio and EVE Online community and available on our Rewind service later.

Confirmed guests at this point include Brendan Drain from Massively although some of you may know him better as Nyphur from his ISD days. We also have Mynxee who for the unenlightened was the former CSM chair as well as other notable personalities such as Seleene and Trebor. If you don't know who they are, you don't spend enough time on the forums. 'nuff said.

Be sure to long in early for what could be the most important and informative discussion of the year.

Update - The Live show is over and the recording is now available on our Rewind service or via direct download here.

Something that I feel is being glossed over is the loss of a few of the Eve players to the increase in system requirements. It helps that CCP's collective response to this has been tough luck go upgrade until then feel free to cancel or pause your game time. I am one of the few who sit here going thanks for nothing now I cant play Eve Online and I dont mean until i upgrade. Upgrading for me is not an option. The primary reason being money this is a laptop so upgrading to something functional would require a whole new desktop or a new laptop this is not in the picture for me at all. I personally wish I could see CCP burn and get to roast marshmallows over its corpse. Oh and yes I have been told they mentioned it twice the minimum requirements would increase but guess what both of those happened before I returned to this game. And when I got back I got no pop up or email or some sort of warning that I wouldn't get to play my game time through and the Plex I earned in game would be a waste of that isk I spent on it. Are not I glad I applied it with out the knowledge that it was useless to me.

If CCP had simply said "No" to the much-repeated question "Will you sell game-changing items via MT" the furore would have died away, for the most part. Now the situation is WORSE, and trading hubs like Jita and Amarr are locked solid.

(Sorry if this already went through!)

You guys must tackle this MT subject. Can't let CCP commit suicide or ruin our little sandbox.

Fight the good fight

It'll be available on Rewind for a full week for regular listeners, 30 days for Premium types.

In addition, if there is enough demand for it we'll whip up a Podcast version with all the lean stuff and non of the fat.
