Rahh! Jukebox and other things

To many of you Jahner is an unknown member of our staff that does nothing but get in the way, bark at DJ's and occasionally do a show on our sister station Subspace Radio. To me, he's a whipping boy who does all the boring, thankless tasks I don't have the time or inclination to take care of.
On occasion, he gets given a task of importance and allowed an opportunity to disappoint me massively. Unfortunately on this occasion he hasn't disappointed me (which angry's up my blood) and completed his task adequately.
I'm referring to the complete refresh of our Jukebox system and the addition and tagging of 6 thousand tracks from multiple genres which now graces our daily automation.
"Hurruh!" I hear you say.
Long overdue it is, but it's not the end of the process. We're also adding a more intelligent scripting system that will allow for smarter jukebox during genre specific sets to that when a DJ is unavailable on the schedule music from it's designated genres is automatically added to the playlist to simulate what the type of music the DJ would normally play.
This will help keep things consistent during jukebox covers or periods where the jukebox dominates the line up.
In addition to all that you may be interested to know that we are about to massively update the Eve Radio website to coincide with the start of our winter season.
Summer has been a bit harsh for us as well as Eve Online and we're now starting the process of getting things back to normal after a dismal end of summer period that has seen a number of DJ's leave us and our concurrent listener numbers drop below the usual seasonal curve.
We can attribute a good portion of this to the usual lull that occurs in the hotter months as well as DJ burnout and the Monoclegate knock on effect but fundamentally every once in a while a good clean out is needed to flush out the grime and introduce some new content and talent to put a spring back in our step.
With that in mind, we are eagerly awaiting you folks from listener land to try out as an Eve Radio DJ or VJ to help fill some gaps in our winter lineup and spare the (now awesome) jukebox from having to do too much work.
Aside from that we are in pretty good shape.
Premium Supporter accounts are healthy (but could be healthier), donations are *mostly* met on time and our new video service is starting to take it's first baby steps into regular broadcasting.
Speaking of which, you can now catch regular video broadcasts on the Funkybacon Show at midnight (gmt) every saturday (or friday evening US) and from next month the new and improved Lemmings Leap returns to Sunday Night Prime Time with DJ Xaphod.
There's a whole lot more I want to share with you but we're not quite ready yet to spill the beans. Look out for exciting announcements in November and be advised that on Tuesday 1st November the Eve Radio website will come down while we begin the upgrade and may not return until very late in the day or early on the 2nd.
More news on this in another announcement over the weekend.
For now, thanks again for tuning in and supporting your local internet radio broadcasters. Good things coming this November - so stay tuned and don't touch that dial!
