Video Server technical Issues

Eve Radio News

You may have noticed that during this evenings video coverage of the CCP Caravan we lost our SD and HD capabilities.

We've determined that it was most likely down to a sudden surge of connections happening in close succession which we were not prepared for. The result was the same as trying to force eight fat guys through a chip shop door at once. It basically got stuck. Then the frame snapped and the roof collapsed, killing everyone.

This hasn't happened previously because we generally don't have hundreds of people trying to connect all at the same time. On this occasion we did, didn't expect it and therefore got caught with our pants down with a greased up prison inmate standing behind us.

Now the violation has finished and we've been able to apply ointment to our devestated proverbial bungholes this shouldn't happen again.

I won't bother you with technical terminology I don't properly understand but suffice to say should things get massively busy once again we'll be better able to prevent these kinds of problems.

So sorry for any inconvenience caused but we did get our backup Livestream server up fairly quickly so some of you were able to hop on over to that and watch in reasonable (but certainly not awesome) SD.
