Return Of The 80's Weekender!

(Now With 10 50 Day ETC's To Give Away!)

Back by popular demand (We had so much fun with this earlier in the year we just HAD to do it all again), Eve' Radio's homage to the awesome 80's returns for an extended weekender starting this Thursday from 19:00 gmt and running through until 06:00 gmt the following Tuesday.

Kicking off with Mr 1980's cherry curls himself - DJ DADDY - we'll be revisiting the decade that time _just_won't_forget_ and take you through the highs and lows of the biggest and best musical decade in history.

From Adam And The Ants to Wet Wet Wet and almost everything in between we'll be exploring the 80's with your favorite Eve Radio DJ's (and those you couldn't give a toss about) by running a variety of 80's themed shows to explore the decade which continues to massively influence the music of today and is still hugely popular more than thirty years on.

For those DJ's with their feet firmly planted in the present you should expect modern covers of classic 80's tunes and the Talk focused chaps will no doubt regal you with stories of how they were the 4th permanent member of ZZ Top. For the others you can expect an eclectic mix of classic rock, synth pop and Hit Factory clones and the genuine pop sensations that you'll hear at every wedding from here to Vladivostok. (Inappropriate drunken grinding against attractive cousins is authorized.)

Throughout it all there will be chances to win a ton of ISK, Eve Time Cards (sponsored by CCP) and individual show prizes we can't even begin to guess at right now. All we know for sure is you gotta be in it to win it (groan) and possess a throbbing nostalgia gland well tuned for 80's epicness.

So get yourself ready for an experience unlike any other and prepare for a marathon of classic rock and pop, big hair, huge shoulders and more Moon walking than you can shake an out of court settlement at.

Join us in our in game channel (Eve Radio) or in our Coldfront IRC channel at irc.coldfront.net #eve-radio

We'll see you in the 80's.

Yeah, it's better to create (angry) content in game smilies/smiley.gif
Plenty of reasons to fight over junk in eve with internet spaceships.
Thanks for the clarification, and about the 80's

I think you are confused. BC was suspended because he broke Eve Radio rules regarding on air conduct not because CCP asked for it. All CCP did was bring it to official attention (I already knew and had spoken to him as I was present when it went down) so if you want to "White Knight" make sure you're angry for the right reasons.

Anyway, this is waaaaay off topic and if you want to bang on about it start a forum post. It's 80's time!

If I was political n junk I would have posted:
Including subs, I send over £200 on Eve radio in donations and this entitles me to absolutely nothing.
But when CCPgames grabs the batphone about BC commenting the past life of one of their employers they get served.

I just hope Eve Radio's priorities and interests are thought through.

Since BC didn't quit over this, I guess a BC Get Out Of Jail Free card (within reason, it's is BC after all) would be nice.

For the record, I am not white knighting that Texan Trailer Dweller (speaking in BC's language here).

But I rather see Eve Radio having enough strength and independence to shrug of that silly request by CCP.

Talking about weird YouTube posts you reminded me of this for 15 seconds:

I remember when you just posted weird Youtube videos and now you're being political n junk.

Tell you what, should you win an ETC I'll swap it for a BC Get Out Of Jail Free card.

Within reason, of course.

So this is CCP's way of indirectly introducing PLEX into their system.

I wonder if these 10x ETC, most likely converged from the PLEX acquired through the banning of RMT accounts,
is their method of stabilizing in game PLEX prizes,
which ofc recently went through the roof because for a long time CCP didn't do anything against sanctioned indirect RMT.

Nice vicious cycle we got going here, TY but NO.

Somebody has to take a stand.

The best gift Eve radio can give me is not banning DJ Bigcountry anymore because CCP demands it for a stupid reason.*
