On November 4th The Mittani Media announced a new Kickstarter project to fund a book to be written about the Fountain War. The first of it's kind in the gaming world, this book would be a story told about real people doing real things... in a video game. Author Jeff Edwards was drafted to be the book's author and the lofty goal was set to raise $150,000 for the project. After raising $16,000 in its first day, the project met with backlash, largely from the Eve Online Reddit community, but with grumblings from bloggers and podcasters across the meta. It didn't take long for the "Grr Goon" factor to set in, and now with 11 days left to fund the project and a coalition of 40,000 members, the the project has a mere 700 backers pledging just over $37,000.
If that weren't bad enough, prominent CFC/Imperium member Endie, a member of CSM X had a private conversation with one Xander Phoena of CSM 9 and Crossing Zebras fame. Somehow the conversation was leaked and made public, and in the wake of the EndieLeak scandal, accusations of TheMittani.com engaging in grey market RMT are running rampant, defenders of the project have gone on an all out offensive, and drama bombs are falling like raindrops in Eve's ever-volatile metagame.
