January 1st 2011 Weekend Lineup Changes

Eve Radio News

We told you it was gonna happen. We wasn't joking around or 'owt, internet radios is serious business.

Normally at this point I would present you with a nice graphic displaying where people are gonna be next month. Sadly, I've only just finalised the placement of those effected after two weeks of manic head scratching and as I've just had to fire someone (VACANCY NOW AVAILABLE FOR LATE NIGHT US DJ WHO ENJOYS ROCK AND METAL) I'm a little too weary to get all special FXey.

So, in plain text format, here is how the weekend 0900 - midnight (gmt) lineup will look from Jan 1st 2011.

09:00 - 12:00 DJ TBA (This is a new DJ who has yet to appear on the schedule)

12:00 - 15:00 DJ LMP (Longrange Man Pounder moves from Sunday to Saturday)

15:00 - 18:00 DJ Sam with the bi-monthly Lemmings Leap (Sam moves up a slot for epic afternoon Leaps)

18:00 - 21:00 DJ Justice (Moves from Sunday 21:00 to take over from Blacklight on saturday evenings - BIG SHOW!!)

21:00 - 00:00 DJ Helix (No change, he's simply no use to us anywhere else)

The saturday morning - evening lineup has been designed to feature a high bias towards the rock and metal musical genres whereas the 18:00 - midnight slots remain with a heavy dance/techno bias.

09:00 - 12:00 DJ Sarge (No change, we felt it was best to keep him here BUT as we've moved LMP you will no longer have 6 hours of funny accents to listen to concurrently! Arent we good to you?)

12:00 - 15:00 DJ Minerdave (Dave has switched to sundays where we are told he is generally much less Scottish)

15:00 - 18:00 DJ Jack-Pott (No move for JP but much more Eve, much less racism - win/win)

18:00 - 21:00 The Sunday Mega Lottery Show with DJ Blacklight (Whitey is retiring from the Lottery but the show must go on. Who better to bring a new flavor to the sunday lottery show than Blacklight and his unique lottery moaniness? I couldn't think of anyone better qualified either, sadly)

21:00 - 00:00 DJ XMAN (He's big, he's black (his fingernails are anwyay) and he's back to complete our EPIC weekend lineup. You know him, you love him, I tollerate him. The XMAN is back!)

The sunday morning lineup has an easy listening/pop bias with a little Scandinavian randomness thrown in for good measure. Afternoons and evenings are an eclectic mix of huge anthems, epic indy and massive house and dance.

There you have it. This is the first half of our weekend revamp for 2011. The second half (concerning the US heavy hours is still being worked on and will probably premier in the second or third week of January. We can't push any of these changes through at this time as we are in the process of splitting a couple of existing slots in order to incorporate two new two hour slots in the US daily schedule. This will allow more variety and DJ's in the traditionally less popular US time zones which we hope will help encourage a new generation of quality US DJ's to sign on as well as expand the listener base in these tricky periods. We're confident, anyway.

The weekday changes will be published by next sunday.
